Ya Ya's House

We went to visit YaYa and Pappy!!!!

What happens when you stay at YaYa's House? Well, you eat a lot of cookies.

You get hugs from your Tanta when you miss your mommy and daddy.

Sometimes you help your Uncle Seth move the Legos.

You stay behind the gate. LOL

You sometimes get to look at books that don't belong to you if Tanta is busy.

What more does a two year old need than her Pappy or YaYa, her thumb and her "blankey heart".

Sometimes , when climbing you hit Aunt Bacon't last nerve.

We like sitting on our Aunts and Uncles. Even if Uncle Ethan isn't sure he likes it.

We looked at lots of books at YaYa's.

Mostly we liked being together.

A weekend well spent

There is always a good deal of wrestling fun when the family is all together. Don, Jack and I made a trip to Iowa this past Friday and Saturday to take care of our house there. We had a lot of cleaning and mowing to do but there was plenty of time for fun.

Pretty is as Pretty Does

Grandma always said "Pretty is as pretty does" when someone would compliment me. I know the point was to say that actions are really more important than the outward appearance. She was right. Just imagine how blessed I am to have girls who are beautiful in both how they look and who they are. From Brittney who is a super mom and wife as well a daughter I can depend on, to Janna whose quiet strength is a calm in the storms of our daily family life. And Morgan who is the spice that makes me smile and always remember my Mom who went on to better things in January of 2005. Someone once said that if Brittney got married and became a mom she would be good at it because that is what she was raised to be. I never thought I was raising my girls to be anything in particular because I believe that God had a plan for them from before I was involved. I hope I taught them to "when you work , work with your might, things half done are never done right" lol (Family joke) I love my girls and am more thankful for them ever day. And I just have to wonder why 3 girls and 5!!! boys. lol

Happy Birthday, Scatterbrain!!!

Scatterbrain turned 15 on the 23rd. Where have all the years gone. Who knew the thumb-sucking, sibling biter of yesteryear would turn into lovely,talented young lady that she is. (ok I hear you sniggering)

My Dad

We had a week long visit from my Dad last week. As usual I took very few pictures. This is one we got on the evening we celebrated his birthday. He is such a great guy. I wish we could see him more.

Cheeky is One

Cheeky celebrated her first birthday on June 30th. How fast this year seems to have gone. She is truly a special little girl.

A little time off

I still find it hard to believe that I had all of our clan for a week at home and everyone left intact. What a crew!

No Cavities, Mom

Boy had a good visit to the dentist. No cavities and he got a tatoo and a toy out of the adventure.

Outside Play

The boys had some time to play outside today. We have lots of outside toys to pick from. I am still amazed at their choices. Pudge and Pickle are in the video.

Holiday Weekend

Over the Memorial Day holiday weekend we were blessed with visitors. SirExplainsAlot and HandbasketQueen were able to care for Crash and Cheeky while their parents had some much deserved time alone. Cheeky was not happy about being left but Crash didn't seem to notice her parents were gone.

Pudge and Crash worked on a tower. Well....Pudge built and Crash was on demolition. Finally the tower was done and we asked Crash to knock it down. She was no longer interested in destruction. lol
